How Much Can the 2021 Subaru Ascent Tow?
The 2021 Subaru Ascent SUV has a max towing capacity of 5000 lbs on selected trim levels when equipped with the available Class III trailer hitch. The Subaru Ascent comes standard with a turbocharged Subaru Boxer engine producing 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque and standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive to help make towing a smooth and controlled experience.
Subaru Trailer Stability Assist
Additionally, the 2021 Subaru Ascent offers Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) on all trim levels as part of a suite of standard traction and stability features including Active Torque Vectoring, Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), and Subaru X-MODE®. The TSA system helps to maintain driver control by sensing unsafe yaw conditions, and then applying automatic braking to the correct wheels.

Subaru Ascent Interior Cargo Space
The 2021 Subaru Ascent has not only the most towing capacity of any Subaru, but is the most spacious Subaru ever made. The interior provides 3rd-row seating for up to 8, or as much as 86.5 cu.ft. of interior cargo space with the rear rows folded down. So whether you are going on a road trip with your RV trailer or heading to the lake for the weekend, the Subaru Ascent has the towing capacity and cargo space for all of your gear.
*Maximum towing capacity varies by trim level. Trailer brakes may be needed. See AutoNation Subaru Spokane Valley for details.
